IDEA HOUSE

Western Architectural Openings, Documentary Film & Photography

Embracing the hillside, horizon, and expansive Coachella Valley views.

THE PROBLEM:

Western Architectural Openings needed a story to showcase their real world product application in an ortherwise brutal desert environment.

They needed compelling social proof that the product was not only of superior quality, but the service that facilitated that installation being of superior quality as well.

THE FIX:

We were able to plan an effective one day shoot, where we captured high quality architectural photographs, prepped set and filmed a beautiful interview with the house’s architect, and produce a full case study for WAO.

HDR Photography of this nature requires skill not only in the editing, but in the actual principal photography as well. Careful thought is given to the placement of aspects of the photo such as walkways, the horizon, exposure changes, reflections and other aspects.

While the editing process is not mysterious for those who know how to perform it, the styling of the furnishings, the placement and coif of small details around the property add to the vibe, along with a definitive color palette.

Conversational flow is of the utmost importance when working with subjects, especially third party. Creating a space of comfort and confidence is a required soft skill to ensure the most authentic answers, which only compounds to the effectiveness of a video that’s meant to ensure social proof.

In addition, thoughtful consideration is given to the framing of the subjects themselves, so the casual viewer is able to glean, consciously and subconsciously from the story the frame itself gives the subject.
